About EREF & UHM

Eldama Ravine Education Foundation (EREF)

Eldama Ravine Education Foundation (EREF) was established in 2013 with a clear mission: to transform lives by giving back to the community through education, talent development, and creating forums for social impact. Uzalendo Half Marathon (UHM)

The Uzalendo Half Marathon (UHM), organized by the Eldama Ravine Education Fund (EREF), supports Uzalendo School, which serves gifted but disadvantaged students. Previous editions funded key school infrastructure and scholarships. Rebranded to expand its national and social impact, UHM is now aligned more closely with its educational mission and is organized in partnership with Athletics Kenya (Baringo Chapter), meeting professional marathon standards.

Its objectives include establishing a sustainable endowment fund, promoting patriotism and social responsibility, supporting the education of bright but needy students, and nurturing sports and creative talents. UHM envisions becoming a nationally recognized annual event that funds education, celebrates Kenyan heroes, and demonstrates the transformative power of education and national pride.
